Australia is the most diverse country in the world, with 30% of the population born overseas, 50% with a parent born overseas, and more than 200 languages spoken at home. Yet this isn't reflected in the ad industry where just 16% of people are culturally diverse. For them, they're often the 'only one in the room'.

With a collective of other diverse ad talent, I set out to change that.

ONLY ONE IN THE ROOM is a platform designed to create a more inclusive advertising community. We're inviting like-minded individuals, agencies, brands and organisations to join us on initiatives to drive our industry forward.

The collective has already partnered with industry publication B&T to launch the first ever Australian advertising diversity award. Additionally, a partnership with pitch consultants TrinityP3 will see the release of a diversity index in the coming months.
